Nordic Lights Group Oyj Press release 24 October 2022 at 13:30 p.m EEST
Nordic Lights, a global premium supplier of high-quality lighting solutions for heavy duty equipment, is launching a new generation LED combination headlight that allows the machine to be operated and driven safely on the road without the need for separate work lights.
Nordic Lights’ new Sculptor 2 LED combination headlight is designed for heavy-duty machinery where lighting is needed at close range. It illuminates the front and sides of the machine where it is typically difficult to see.
“The new headlight can illuminate the area around the front tires and bucket of a wheel loader, for example. The low beam remains active even when the high beam is used, keeping the front of the machine fully illuminated,” says Jyrki Mikkola, R&D Director at Nordic Lights.
The new headlight can be combined with all well-known brands of machinery and existing light set-ups. It includes a daytime running light feature that contributes to improved safety when the machine is in use: it makes the machine more visible operated in daytime both on the road and on the worksite.
Sculptor 2 headlights are manufactured at the Nordic Lights factory in Finland.
R&D with safety and quality in mind
“Nordic Lights actively develops headlight solutions in cooperation with our customers and partners for the industrial environment, taking into account the demanding operational needs, as well as the regulatory requirements. Creating high-quality illumination, and with it safety, is one of the most important aspects we focus on in product development,” says Jyrki Mikkola.
“The new Sculptor-headlight is an example of a product developed and tested through our long-term partnerships. Its reliability, durability and features are designed to meet the high quality and safety standards of the heavy-duty machinery industry.”
A growing product range for global markets
Nordic Lights, listed on Nasdaq Helsinki First North, is one of the world’s leading designers and manufacturers of premium lighting solutions for heavy duty equipment. Nordic Lights manufactures a designated range of work lights, driving lights, and signal lights.
It has a strong market position in its area of specialization and well-established cooperation with well-known global OEM brands – such as Caterpillar, Hitachi, John Deere, Komatsu, Liebherr, Sandvik and Ponsse, as well as in the aftermarket for lighting solutions, where Nordic Lights cooperates with distributors.
Nordic Lights’ lighting solutions are sold in Europe, North and South America, Africa, the Middle East and Asia for machinery use around the world. Most of Nordic Lights’ lighting solutions are manufactured at the company’s factory in Jakobstad, Finland, and it has a second factory in China.
In 2021, most of the revenue of EUR 66 million came from the work lights, but the aim is to expand the current range of driving and signal lights. In addition to its focus on safety, the company has in the recent years emphasised on the development of smart lights and on increasing the energy efficiency and environmental friendliness of its products.
